Begin your Golden Triangle adventure discovering the contrasts of India’s historic capital before cruising down the Yamuna Expressway to the Mughal city of Agra.

Today’s plan:

• Morning (Old Delhi) — start your day early with a visit to Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques. Take a sensory-rich rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk and view the imposing walls of the Red Fort.
• Afternoon (New Delhi) — drive past the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s House) and stop for photos at India Gate. Visit the soaring Qutub Minar or the beautiful Humayun’s Tomb.
• Evening Drive to Agra — drive to Agra via the Yamuna Expressway (approx. 3.5 to 4 hours). Check into your Agra hotel and relax.

Experience the spellbinding marble monument of love at sunrise, explore royal Mughal fortresses, and journey through historic ruins into the royal state of Rajasthan.

Today’s plan:

• Sunrise at the Taj Mahal — head out at 6:00 AM to experience the Taj Mahal at sunrise when the marble glows with changing morning hues (Note: The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays). Return to your hotel for breakfast and check out.
• Late Morning (Agra Fort) — tour the massive red sandstone Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site that served as the main residence of the Mughal Emperors.
• Afternoon Drive & Fatehpur Sikri — drive toward Jaipur (approx. 4.5 hours). En route, make a stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the ghost city built by Emperor Akbar. If time permits, pull over to see the incredible ancient stepwell, Chand Baori in Abhaneri.
• Night in Jaipur — arrive in Jaipur, check into your hotel, and spend the evening enjoying traditional Rajasthani food.

Today’s plan:

• Morning (Amber Fort & Jal Mahal) — head to the magnificent cliffside Amber Fort. You can take a jeep or elephant ride up to the main courtyard. On your way back, stop for pictures at the floating Jal Mahal (Water Palace).
• Afternoon (City Palace, Jantar Mantar & Hawa Mahal) — visit the City Palace, which still houses the royal family, and marvel at the astronomical instruments at Jantar Mantar. Stop by the intricate pink facade of the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds).
• Evening (Vibrant Bazaars) — spend time shopping for traditional crafts, jewelry, and textiles in the vibrant Johari Bazaar or Bapu Bazaar.

Enjoy your final morning in Rajasthan before completing your Golden Triangle circuit with a smooth transfer back to Delhi.

• Afternoon (Drive back to Delhi) — check out and embark on the drive back to Delhi (approx. 5 hours).
